Many are fond of saying they are realists, which, for some, means they accept things as they are and operate within the framework of the possible. However, I invite you to imagine more with me. Why?
I write fantasy because I know that those things I can taste, smell, touch, hear, or see are limited and aren't the sum total of reality as it truly is. I only sense a small portion of the real world, because, by reason alone, I can only understand a slice of what is and not the full expanse before me. Therefore, if I remain in my rut, I only see what is before and behind, not what is up and over my self-imposed limits. If I dare, through His Spirit, to imagine differently, my life becomes one of possibilities, opportunities, and an expanded vista of "what if?" rather than a life hemmed by simply "what is."
It's like walking on an unexplored beach and picking up sea shells that catch my attention. I do not keep every one, but only those I find attractive, beautiful, and out of the ordinary. These precious finds I add to my collection of life and they bring me joy.
Likewise, fantasy liberates me from the confines of reason just long enough to imagine what could be and to see things in a different light. To be sure, much of what I imagine is fantasy, but sometimes, in some way, I also believe it is real. This is why I call Seraph Hunter Real Fantasy. It is a thrilling journey to realms of our imagination. It gives us all permission to encompass possibilities not normally considered and, every once in a while, find something precious that adds immeasurably to our lives.
Blessings,
