Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information seraphhunter.com collects, why, who it is shared with, and what you can do about it. The site is run by M.J. King, author of the Seraph Hunter books, from Utah, USA. In this policy "we" means M.J. King and the Seraph Hunter site.

If you have a question about your information, use the Contact page.

What we collect, and why

When you join the readers’ list. If you sign up for the free chapters or the newsletter, we collect your email address (and your name, if you give it). We use it to send you what you signed up for and occasional news about the books. The list is run by MailerLite, which stores it for us. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and one click takes you off the list.

When you buy something. If you place an order, we collect your name, email, billing and shipping address, and what you bought, so we can fulfil the order, send receipts, and handle returns. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are never stored on this site. Printed merchandise is made and shipped by Printful, which receives your name, shipping address and order details for that purpose only.

When you create a member account. If you register as a member, we store your username, email address and password (encrypted), and your membership level, so you can log in and use member pages.

When you contact us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply.

When you leave a comment. Comments store your name, email, website (if given), the comment itself and your IP address, which helps with spam filtering. Your name, website and comment are shown publicly; your email address is not.

When you talk to the Librarian. The site has an AI conversation feature (the Librarian of Rhema). What you type is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate a reply, and conversations may be kept for a time so we can improve the feature and prevent misuse. Please don’t share sensitive personal information with it.

When you simply visit. Like most sites, we record basic technical information: your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and when. We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand how readers find and use the site, and Wordfence to protect it from attacks. Both may set cookies or log your IP address.

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use them to:

  • keep your cart and checkout working;
  • keep you logged in, if you have an account;
  • remember choices you make on the site;
  • measure visits with Google Analytics;
  • protect the site from abuse.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, the shop and member areas may not work properly.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for others’ advertising. We share it only with the services that help us run the site, and only for that purpose:

  • MailerLite – email list and newsletters
  • Stripe – payments
  • Printful – printing and shipping merchandise
  • Google (Analytics, Site Kit) – visitor statistics
  • Anthropic – the Librarian conversation feature
  • Wordfence – site security
  • TMD Hosting – the server the site runs on

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the site, its readers, or ourselves from fraud or harm.

How long we keep it

  • The readers’ list: we keep your email until you unsubscribe.
  • Orders: we keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Member accounts: we keep your account details until you ask us to delete the account.
  • Contact messages and comments: we keep these until they are no longer needed.
  • Analytics and security logs: these are kept for the periods each service sets.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • show you the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • stop using it for email.

Depending on where you live (for example, in California, the EU or the UK), the law may give you further rights, and we’ll honour them. To make a request, use the Contact page. We’ll reply within 30 days.

Children

The Seraph Hunter books and this site are written for adults. The site is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Payments are handled by Stripe, and the site is protected by security software. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share with us.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we’ll also tell readers on the email list.
